Hi,
I’m a friend of Cheryl Taylor’s and she told me about Kaelie and her battle. I had cancer and was treated (and am now caner free, praise the Lord!), last year. I had no job and no insurance when I was diagnosed and literally had to rely on God for everything. And man o man did He come through! My cancer was in my sinuses and lymph nodes so they couldn’t do surgery and the standard form of radiation would have left me without a sense of smell, taste, and possibly unable to swallow, so I’d have had a feeding tube in my stomach the rest of my life. None of that sounded fun. So I did my research and found that MD Anderson has a special radiation that was developed for cancers like mine and Kaelie’s called Proton Therapy. It’s pinpoint radiation that treats the cancer and does not damage the healthy tissue around the cancer. And it’s been proven to be the best treatment available for kids with neuroblastoma. MD Anderson has been rated the best cancer hospital in the world for 10 years in a row, by the way. And the VERY GOOD NEWS is that they have financial aid packages! They only take 6000 patients a year for the proton therapy, so the sooner you apply, the better your chances are of getting in. I know this seems overwhelming and is a lot of information, but if I had a child with cancer, I’d do everything in my power to get them to MDA. I’m sure your hospital and doctors are good ones, but these people are the best at cancer treatment. I’ve included some links below for you to read more about them and the treatments. I was in treatment with a 9 year old little girl who had cancer in her brain and on her spine. She had chemo and radiation as her course of treatment, and as of today (I just spoke with her mother earlier), she is cancer free. She’s been cancer free for over a year!

I can’t guarantee that MDA will heal Kaelie, only God can do that, but as I said, I would do everything in my power to get her seen by the doctors there. If you want to discuss this, or if you need assistance with financial aid apps, or have any questions, I’m more than happy to assist in any way I can! And I will certainly be praying for her and will put her on my church’s prayer list. Please don’t hesitate to contact me if I can be of ANY help at all!
Love and blessings in Christ,
Vaughn
